One of the finest woodworking programs in the country is located right here in San Marcos. The Palomar Cabinet and Furniture Technology department offers a curriculum of over fifty classes covering all aspects of woodworking from the basics to cabinet making, finishing, veneering and marquetry, instrument building, design, and shop and tool maintenance. There are several certificate programs and an Urban Forestry program. We post upcoming class schedules - visit the Palomar CFT website for more information.
SDFWA and the San Diego Public Library have contributed matching funds to compile a large collection of woodworking books. These are available to anyone with a public library card.
SDFWA maintains a video lending library containing dozens of VHS tapes and DVDs. Members may borrow videos on a wide variety of woodworking topics.
