About 70 people made
the trek to Fallbrook on the 15th and were rewarded with a very cool wood
shop, courtesy of owner and proud designer, Bernie Burke, as well as a
terrific scenic view on a fine sunny day. The doughnuts weren't too bad
either and a good time was apparently had by all. We are very grateful to
Bernie for hosting the event, and also to Jewell Burke, for opening her
exceptional quilting studio to the visitors. A few photos are shown below.

August Tour FEEDBACK
The August shop tour at Tropical Exotic Hardwoods in Carlsbad (8/27/11) was
a grand success! Over 70 members attended and, in addition to eyeballing all
those interesting woods, they appeared to relish owner Mitch Talcove's
stories and info about the exotic wood business. The 42" Jatoba slab door
prize, generously donated by TEH, was won by Don Spangler. He seemed to be
pleased, judging by the all-smiles photo below with Don (left), Mitch and
the prize. Many thanks to all who attended! And thanks to Marty Talcove for
the event images.
Our next shop tour, set for Saturday, October 15 from 9-12am, will be hosted
by Bernie Burke of Fallbrook. You'll want to see this superb facility.
