I hope everyone had a great holiday season and are looking forward to 2012.

I would like to thank all our members for their support over the past year, especially our Board and Chair Members. It takes a lot of people to make our organization run as smooth as it does and we are always looking for extra help. We need someone to take over for Al De Vries as Swap Meet Chair and our Publicity position needs filling too.

As you know, our elections were held during the annual meeting last November. Jim LaGrone was elected as the Vice President, taking over for Dave Henry and Bernie Burke, filling the Treasurer position for Doug Parker. Both Dave and Doug did a tremendous job during their tenure and will be missed. Thank you for serving!

I regret to inform you of the loss of Tom Henderson. Tom passed away in November. He previously held the position of Vice President and was very actively involved with the Chair Shop during the Design in Wood show. Tom loved working with wood and truly enjoyed being a member of the Association. He will be deeply missed. His cousin, Linda Phegley, made a donation in Tom’s name to the Association. Thank you Linda for your generous donation.

2012 promises to be another banner year for our Mentor Program. If there is anything in particular that you would like to learn, please contact Ed Gladney (Gladney@san.rr.com) and if there is enough interest in the topic, he will set up a class. We can also use help from anyone willing to teach a class or hold one at their shop. Please see Ed’s articles in this and future newsletters.
